Dear flamers,
In a language all of you should be able to understand:
Charlotte was a wonderful wife. STOP. She did nothing wrong. STOP. Give her anything she wants. STOP. Seriously, mother. STOP.
Leave Keltie the fuck alone.
Sincerely, RR

REKINDLING ROMANCE AT THE DISCO?
Singer Brendon Urie and guitarist Ryan Ross of highly popular rock band Panic at the Disco are rumoured to be up to old tricks. Though never officially confirmed, the intra-band romance is wildly known among the fans to have gone on for almost five years, up until Ross’s engagement with modern dancer Keltie Colleen roughly a year ago. (The wedding was cancelled only days before it was to have taken place, and both Ross and Colleen have been extremely tight-lipped on the reasons behind the sudden break-up.) Ross and Urie were spotted alone together several times this week, walking down the beach in Malibou and sipping coffee in intimate cafés, heads held close together. Could this be the long-awaited explanation for one of this year’s most dramatic celebrity events? Keep checking in and we’ll keep you updated…

dear homophobes and stalkers
know about a guy called ryan ross? pretty, dark hair, likes to wear tight jeans and too many scarves? in love with a guy called brendon urie, who might or might not be even more beautiful? (haven’t kept up with the latest polls, baby callie has a cold.) put up any flaming posts about them on lj or buzznet lately? called their families at 2 am? broken into their hotel rooms to get pictures of the “ryden action”?
well fuck you.
these are two of my best friends and they have enough shit to deal with right now without you adding to the pile. they are not your fucking toys. spread the word, stop buying tabloids, delete perezhilton.com and celebritygossip.com from your bookmarks and knock it off.
ps. patrick says to add that he totally agrees, and you know he never, ever swears in blogs so that should tell you something about what complete assholes you are.
shame on you. now leave them the fuck alone.

Interview with Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross, Out Magazine (December 2011)
After a year of much media drama, Panic at the Disco is back in the recording studio, their fourth album, Odes to the Poetry of Robert Frost, hitting stores on Christmas Eve. OUT MAGAZINE met up with lead-singer Brendon Urie and guitarist Ryan Ross for an exclusive on music, gossip and being forced into the role of the media industry’s hot new couple.
OM: It’s been quite an overwhelming year for you guys. How would you recap the last twelve months?
RR: I don’t know if that’s actually possible. It’s just been completely crazy.
BU: Yeah, I mean, we thought we were used to it, you know? The media witch hunt, stalkers, all that. But not like this has been. It’s been rough. Really rough. We’re glad to have a new album out. Hopefully that’ll remind people of why they know who we are in the first place: because we write and play music.
OM: You came out as an official couple at the beginning of the spring, right before you left for your last European tour. Tell us a bit about that decision.
BU: Well, we didn’t want to make a grand statement or anything, because really, it has nothing to do with anyone but us and those closest to us. But at the same time, we didn’t want to stay in the closet and sneak around all the time. I love Ryan more than anything. I don’t want to pretend that he means any less to me than he does just because there are people around.
RR: We’re just another two people in love, so that’s how we chose to reveal it. Just not hiding anymore—starting calling Brendon my boyfriend in interviews, linking our profiles on Facebook, you know, the sort of things people normally do when they’re with someone.
OM: You’ve known each other for a long time, and yet both of you dated other people up until last year. You, Ryan, even almost got married at one point [to dancer Keltie Colleen, the engagement was broken off in June 2010]. What made you realize that there was something more there between you?
RR: I think we both actually realized it a long time ago—years maybe, even—but it took us a long time to get here, to really give the two of us a chance, and I’m not sorry for the people we both met on the way. If I could go back and do it all again, of course I would change some things. There are definitely times in my past that I’m not proud of, when I acted like a complete jerk, but I wouldn’t want to cut anyone away from my past. These are all people that meant a lot to me, and most of them still do.
BU: I think people sometimes forget that—that it’s not just about us. We’re not a little bubble of BrendonandRyan existing somewhere in a separate universe. We have friends and family, people that we love. And they shape us. And it hurts just as much for us to see them go as it does for anyone else. Being famous doesn’t make love easy.
RR: More the other way around.
BU: Yeah, definitely.
OM: What’s the most difficult part, would you say? Of being a so-called celebrity couple?
RR: I hate that word. Celebrity couple. Makes me feel like a cardboard doll.
BU: Yeah. Remember that movie, America’s Sweethearts, with Catherine Zeta Jones? It was total crap, so I don’t blame you if you don’t, but it makes a good point about how people have this image of who you are and who you are as a couple, and for some reason they want that. They don’t care if it’s real, they just want the story, the entertainment value.
RR: I think that’s the most dangerous thing you can do, to start believing that these people actually care about you. I mean, even our most rabid fans have met us, what? Some ten-twenty times? For a grand total of maybe one or two hours at concerts and meet-and-greets. They don’t know who we really are. Just like we don’t know them. It’s easy to forget that sometimes, too, that it works the other way around as well.
OM: How do you mean?
BU: Well, like, we have all sorts of people who follow the band, from the people who just listen to the music to the ones who just read the gossip columns. And sometimes it’s hard to see all the fans who honestly just love the music and who don’t stalk us in airports or harass our families. And it’s not fair, and we try to remember that they are out there, being nice and wonderful and supportive, but when I hear my name being called in the street, my first reaction is always “shit, not again,” and I hate that.
RR: It’s like we’re closing ourselves off, sometimes. And you kind of have to, because every joke you make is dissected and every person you talk to is a potential girlfriend/boyfriend…
BU: …secret love child…
RR: Those are definitely interesting, seeing as we’re twenty-five…
BU: Well, I don’t know about you, Ross, but I was a total stud in kindergarten.
RR: I think that’s the main reason why we didn’t get together sooner, to be honest. Because we didn’t want to reduce the band to some sort of gay Hollywood drama. We’re just two guys who like to play music and hang with our friends.
OM: Moving on to the music. There has been quite some speculation that the new album is all about your relationship. How would you rate that rumour?
RR: Completely false. I mean, there are elements of it in there, sure. Our lyrics have always been very personal, but it’s not a Ryan Ross-Brendon Urie love letter.
BU: We wrote these songs together, all of us as a band, just like we’ve done with the last two albums. And sure, there’s love in there, lots of it. I mean, Spencer [Smith, drums] got married last year and he and Jon [Walker, bass] both had kids while we were writing this. It’s been a very close family time for all of us, and that comes through.
OM: Any messages in there to the media or the crazy fans that won’t leave you alone?
BU: (laughs) Actually, Ryan was into that idea for a while. He’s still a bit too easily influenced by Pete [Wentz, Fall Out Boy], I think.
RR: Shut up. I am not.
BU: Right…
RR: The thing is, we’re not a political band. We never wanted to be. We want to make songs that connect with people, lyrically or musically, and most people have no idea what it’s like to wake up with thirty cameras outside your bedroom window. The media has so much of us already. We don’t want to give over our music too.
BU: Exactly. The music is just ours. Mine and Ryan’s and Spencer’s and Jon’s and anyone else’s who wants to listen to it. It’s our own little happy land.
OM: Speaking of Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy… There was a music video about four months ago that caused a bit of a stir..?
RR: Hand it over.
BU: (grins and pulls a twenty from his pocket) Does that mean I get to tell the story?
RR: Knock yourself out.
BU: It was no big deal, really. Pete always wants to get a reaction out of people. He’s like this lost fairytale prince who just can’t sit back and let things happen that he thinks are wrong.
RR: (laughs) He’s going to kill you for saying that.
BU: Shut up, he’ll be totally flattered. Anyway, he and Ashlee [Simpson-Wentz] had a very hard time with the media when Bronx was born [Wentz’s first child, born in 2008], and even more so with Callie [second child, born in early 2011]. So Pete did what he usually does when something pisses him off and wrote a song about it [Million Dollar Privacy, 2011]. And when they were making the video, he asked me and Ryan to be a part of it. So we were.
RR: It was pretty cool. Weird but cool.
BU: Making out to a script with someone who isn’t just an actor was strange, with all the crew there, the director going “Tilt your head a bit more! Can I get some more blue light in there?” when I had my hands up the back of Ryan’s shirt.
RR: Yeah, it really was.
OM: Last question: what’s next on the agenda for Panic at the Disco? Are you going back on tour with the new album or are you all taking some family time?
BU: Back on tour. We’ve pushed the dates around a bit since Jon and Cassie are expecting their second baby this spring, but the plan is to tour the States and Canada between January and March and then leave for Europe and Asia in the beginning of July. Between writing and recording, we haven’t been on tour for almost six months now, and it’s going to be nice to get back on the road. We’re all very excited about playing the new songs live. It’s what we love doing the most.
OM: Well, good luck with that, and with the new album. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas.
RR: Same to you.
BU: Merry Christmas, everyone.

Oh, I should have written some really, really bad fanfic and put in there! Why didn't I think of that? (Why, brain? Why?) LOL
Glad you liked the interview. That was actually one of the first things I wrote. It's totally inspired by

this made my heart hurt, and grin so fucking wide.
thank you for, you know, being brilliant<3

You totally inspired this you know, in that first chat we had. ♥

i've never saw anything like this before, it was amazing.

If you go to the overview, there's a flowchart there which will help you navigate through the story without risking getting the ryan/keltie ending (if you want to avoid that). Bascially, the only things you should avoid in that case are Weddinig of Doom, the Wedding Coda and the Solo Album Coda. All three are very Ryden focused still, though, (and the endings are pretty open, so you could read them as Ryden or to-be-Ryden if you wanted to) so if you should feel like some Romeo&Juliet!Ryden someday, I'd still recommend them. :-)
But, yes, that's all. The rest is safe. Might not be sunshine and puppies straight away, but they will get there. LOL
Thank you so much for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

of course i would end up at the rydon end first lol
i'm gonna read & comment the rest, too as soon as i find my way to get there but first let me say: this is so freaking awesome! i admire all your stuff and this whole... project just blows the shit out of me! the fake interview at the end, all those blog/community entries lol wow you must've had quite a lot of time on your hands ;)
and every single word you wrote is totally fuckin worth being read.
i liked the 'advice from pete' part a lot though i'm generally not much of a wentz friend but the comparison with extreme sports... just wow... and yeah...
i dunno what else to say, you make me speechless (and that means quite something)

The Pete chapter is one of my favourites. It was my first time writing him, and it just... clicked in a way, I don't know.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

Seriously? AMAZING idea. AMAZING execution. And this section!! The blogs, the art, the whole thing! Oh my god, it is AWESOME!
Also, the Pete/Patrick made my heart break. Gah.
Okay, will comment again via a different path, once my brain has re-set itself and I have words again.

I'm thrilled you liked the coda. I thought it was a really fun idea, but I got really mixed reactions from my betas on that so I was a bit worried about how that would go.
The Pete/Patrick breaks my heart so much in this too. I know it's silly to get so emotional over a fic (especially one that you wrote yourself, I mean, come on) but I just can't help it. LOL. And it's really hard to listen to Golden now. :-D

(Psst. Am in the process of posting chapter one of the abandoned van fic to a backdated entry for you, in case you're still interested. Sorry it took so long, I didn't have internet for a few days. =( Anyway, I'll link it once the post goes up.)

Also, I have this killer idea for bigbang. We should totally get together for a chat soon. :-)

(Anonymous) 2009-01-26 12:40 am (UTC)(link)Anyway, first ending I got! I loved clicking on the fake links, the LJ missing link thing always cracks me up. And I read the bad!fic to result in severe brain cell loss.
But the ending was so believable (believable enough that I clicked on the fake users) and this is the first story I've seen in this style. Now I'm off to go find another ending.

And I love that people keep clicking the fake user names. That means the illusion is really working, and that makes me happy like woha. :-D

have you ever had the book Lemmings?
yeah, huge thing of this.. I love it, this'll definitely keep me amused for hours.
so, anyhow, I've only 'played' this once, and I'm going to carry on trying,
but some of the 'posts' you made up for this part just made me sick. the whole media things + fans and that, I'm sitting here thinking.. "shit, are some fans really like that?" but hey, media's a bitch, for sure.

The whole crazy fans thing really bothers me. I mean, it's one thing to like something and flail over it with your friends and a completely different thing to stalk someone. Internet stalking is just not cool. :-) I really loved writing the codas. It's a nice mix to play with of the two, and with the media aspect and everything. Plus, Photoshop. Always a good thing. LOL
no subject
But I cheated, you know, I'm still reading the others and since I'm a big cynic when it comes to fics, I ended up with Ryan getting married, but it's all cool. I'm gonna read each one anyway.
Just know how I am so amazed at what you did here, with every detail and the beautifully crafted chapters, twists and turns.
I'm really glad someone told me about you (Collin, duh. XD). *huggles you tightly*)

I took the easy way out this time because I didn't want any heartache right now and just believed in RYAN'S AND BRENDON'S EPIC LOVE! jkjk
But i'll try out some different paths for sure 8D Can't let all your awesome writing go to waste.
The interview in the end here made me just a tiny bit sad in the 'i wished, I wished' sense, but the story was still gorgeous.
I can't help but think that you're one of the best canon writers out there - it's like you can really see it from their POV, especially when it comes to crazy fans, and just how tiring it must get to weight every word you say because it could be taken the wrong way.
It's great that you're able to pay them the respect they deserve, and yet fangirl about them the way you just do - their life would be so much easier if everyone did that.
AHH ENOUGH OF THIS, I LOVE IT TO PIECES <3333
Love,
Anna

How is your fic going? :))))
no subject
I'm a bit on edge because I am moving in less than a month to the Netherlands. I'm going to study there for three years starting September, but I haven't been in school for 3 years.
Most of the classes will be held in Dutch, and even though I am quite good at picking up new languages, I have a hard time trying to learn Dutch. It's so similar to German that I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but the writing especially is giving me a hard time - so many false friends!
So yeah, I've had a lot of things in my head and I'm constantly tired, even though I probably shouldn't be. In addition to that I recently re-read the second chapter and noticed how much I didn't like it. So i'm going to have to re-write most of it before I pick up where I left on the third one. I'm just really unsure about my writing. When you're not writing in your maternal language and you don't have much experience in the first place, you always feel like it could be better and you're not as eloquent as you'd like to be, taking the easy way out an repeating yourself. At least that's what it's like for me. Well, I'll still try to work more on it once I've moved - it's nearly been a year and I've hardy written anything. That's a bit frustrating.
Thanks for asking, though. How are you? And your little girl?
Sorry, this turned into an essay.
Best wishes,
<3
Anna
