Dear
chicken_cookie,
I don't really know how to tell you this, but I'm in love with your sister. I think I realised it when I quoted Santa in your apartment when I saw you pour syrup on my mustard soufflé. I'm sure you're middle-class enough to understand that Extreme Home Makeover sucks. I'm returning the pictures from LA to you, but I'll keep your suicide note as a memory. You should also know that I always wanted to break senility.
Your everlasting enemy

And the second one:
- List 7 habits/quirks/facts.
- Tag 7 people to do the same.
- Don't tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag 'whoever wants to do it'.
1) I learn foreign languages by having conversations with myself and/or imaginary people in my head. This is also, for the most part, how I plot and outline my writing.
2) I love beer. Like seriously LOOOOOOOOVE beer. It's golden and perfect. Especially with salty, fatty, snacky food.
3) My favourite beer (right now) is Peroni, which is an Italian lager. There is also a bar with that name in central Rome where Italian men with big bellies go to watch football and the waiters think you speak Italian if you speak to them in French. I highly recommend it.
4) I speak Swedish, English and French fluently. Swedish is technically my first language, but English is, by far, the one I'm best at. Especially in writing--I can't spell Swedish to save my life. (I also speak some Spanish--mainly just enough to cheat at ordering in restaurants--and enough Italian to yell at kids who smoke indoors and try to buy sex from the cleaning ladies when I'm monitoring international youth events (you know, like you do))
5) My real name is Malin (pronounced MAH-lynn, with a long, open A). It's a derivation of Magdalene, which just means "woman from the city Magdala" (somewhere in Israel or thereabouts. Googlemaps don't know either). In French, 'malin' means 'wicked'. This made for three very fun years of introducing myself when I was living in France. My favourite introduction is still the one which lead to three boys, ages 5-10, dancing around me for roughly ten minutes singing "Malin est malin!" ("Malin is wicked") at the top of their voices.
6) I used to be a dance teacher. Jazz and showdance mainly. I've done jazz, show, ballet, street, funk, latin, tap, lyrical and modern myself. That's actually one of the reasons I ended up in France for three years. The other two were getting dumped by my boyfriend and:
7) having the worst sense of directions known to man. I am completely hopeless. My inner compass is there, but it's always pointing in the wrong direction. Which sometimes leads to funny situations, like getting lost and accidentally enrolling in a French university programme for three years when you're trying to ask for directions. :)
(Me: Excuse me, do you know where this street is, please?
French lady: Do you have your ID?
Me: Um, what?
French lady: I need your ID to enroll you in the programme you want.
Me: Nono, I'm not here to enroll. I'm trying to find...
French lady: You're not enrolling?
Me: No. Just directions, please.
French lady: Why?
Me: *stops to think* Um...
French lady: Take this booklet. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.
Me: *takes booklet automatically. leaves through it. is intrigued*
French lady: So? There's a line, you know.
Me: Well, this one looks fun *points at a three year literature and linguistics programme complete with Greek and Latin and Medieval phonetics stuff*
French lady: Excellent choice. Now, your ID, please? And if you'll fill these in for me...
2 hours later
Me (on phone): Mom? Yeah, hi. Um. Slight change of plans...)
