Huh. I don’t know. Was he the one to take the pictures maybe? I mean, Shane’s in Europe filming, isn’t he? Maybe Brendon took over?

Reply: Bden? by [livejournal.com profile] bdenismyhero
I heard he wasn’t there actually. Some kind of family emergency. Don’t have more facts, sry.

Reply: Bden? by [livejournal.com profile] crazyforpanic
Oh no! is he ok? Nobody in his family died or anything, did they?

Reply: Bden? by [livejournal.com profile] bdenismyhero
Don’t think so, but can’t be sure. Check buzznet, maybe there’s more.

plan for decaydance world dominance: right on track

all my awesome friends are having babies lately. a few more and we will begin phase two of the ultimate decaydance world-domination scheme. big hugs to jwalk and cassie for cutie mollie sue and high fives to the rest of the band for rising to the challenge. it’s all working out perfectly: mini-ryro and mini-spencer will charm the socks off everyone so that bronx can take the throne with the help of the ever-growing army of mcr and cobra kids. newbaby wentz (only five more weeks now!) will be head treasurer and the little mini-stumps will be queens and first lieutenants as soon as patrick gets his shit together and actually creates them. (marriage contracts will be signed by the cradle. call me a traditional dad)

Interview with Brendon Urie, Friends and Enemies (March 21, 2011)

Q: You’re the last single member of your band. Do they ever try to set you up?

A:
(laughs) Well, they used to, but they don’t really anymore. The thing is, I sort of had someone I was completely crazy about a while back, like, head over heels, the whole shebang, and it didn’t work out, and I guess I’m a bit reluctant to go down that road again right now. It just wouldn’t be fair to anyone.

Q: Sounds rough?

A:
Yeah, well, you know… But working on the music helps. It’s amazing how much anger and disappointment you can get out of your system with a guitar in your hands. And working with Patrick [Stump, singer of Fall Out Boy] on this album has been really great. I’ve learnt a lot from him and he’s a really good friend.

Q: Yes, tell me more about the solo album you’re recording now. How did that come about?

A:
Well, the album just sort of… happened, I don’t know. I was in Spain last year, visiting my friend Shane who was filming there, and then I kind of just travelled around Europe a bit, just me and my guitar. And I wrote quite a bit of songs during that time, and when I got back, me and the other guys discussed it and decided that I should record them as a solo thing, because it just made the most sense. I mean, when we wrote our first album, they were essentially Ryan’s [Ross, lyrics and guitar] songs, well, Ryan’s and mine, and Jon [Walker, bass, who joined the band in 2006, replacing Brent Wilson] wasn’t even part of the band then. And when we wrote Pretty. Odd. we all decided that we didn’t want to be that kind of band anymore, and that we wanted every song we made to have little pieces of all of us in them, you know. And that’s what’s made us work so well together, I think.

Q: So, what does your going solo mean for Panic at the Disco? Are you guys taking a break or what is happening there?

A:
We’re taking a bit of a break right now. I mean, the other guys have a lot of family things going on [Jon Walker became a father in January of this year, Spencer Smith and Ryan Ross both got married in 2010 and are expecting children in May and July, respectively] so we’ve said that we’ll take a year off touring, see what happens next.

Q: Tell me more about your solo stuff. What was the main inspiration behind your new songs?

A:
Well, it’s very inspired by the places I travelled through when I wrote them, the music I heard in different places, the people I met. It’s a bit of a mix.

Q: One of the pre-released singles is called “Love Song From a Widower.” It’s a very sad title. Care to tell us more about that?

A:
Well, I can’t tell you too much, because it’s very personal, but I think it’s pretty obvious that it’s a song about losing someone you love. I wrote it in Norway. I was out hiking with some people I’d met, and we were walking up in the mountains, and everything was just so clear and peaceful. Most of the songs on this album are about finding that feeling—accepting and just letting things go. Life’s too short to just be angry all the time.

Q: How have your fans reacted to the new songs so far? You have two singles out now, and the rest of the album is to be released on…

A:
April 10.

Q: Exactly. So what have the reactions been? Are the fans upset about this not being a Panic effort?

A:
No, the reactions have been really good actually. And the fans have been really sweet and very supportive. A little too supportive at times, to be honest. I’m getting a bit sick of people treating me like a heartbroken puppy sometimes. I’m fine. Yeah, things happened and it was the most painful thing I’ve ever been through, but I’m handling it, and it’ll be fine. And as for the album, it is a Panic effort in many ways. I mean, Spencer does all the drumming on the tracks that have them. Jon plays most of the bass tracks and Ryan did the acoustic guitar and backing vocals for both “Love Song From a Widower” and “Unspoken Vows,” which hasn’t been released yet. These guys are all so close to me and the most important people in my life apart from my family. They’re always going to be a part of what I do.

Q: Other guest appearances feature Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. How was it to work with them again, this time on your own album? [Urie have done regular guest appearances on Fall Out Boy’s later albums, out of which the duet with Patrick Stump for “20 Dollar Nosebleed” on 2008’s Folie à Deux is one of the most well-known.]

A:
It was great. I love working with Patrick, he’s got such a great sense for music and how to make things sound exactly like you want them to in your head. And Pete is just so intense and really, really focused when he’s working. The two of them together is just magic, and I was very happy to be able to work with them.

Q: Okay then. Thank you so much for you time and good luck with the new album!

A:
Thank you.

Subject: OMG!!!! SO SO SO CANON!!!!

A lonely widower I stand
Left upon my wedding night
Couldn’t keep you in my arms
When golden light turned
Long-held dreams to smoke
Behind a bolted marble gate

From: Love Song From a Widower, OTPRF

golden = blond hair = Keltie!!!
marble gate = a church = the wedding!!!

RYDEN 4 EVER!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Talk about jumping to conclusions. And the fact that they got married in a casino garden (NOT a church) fits in how? Let me guess? Smoke = people smoke in casinos = Ryan got married in a casino = this song is all about him? And golden light? Come on! Like Keltie is the only blonde in the world! Or, you know, it could be an actual metaphor for—I don’t know—friggin’ morning, maybe?

Deluuuuuuuuuuuuuuusional….

Yeah, I actually agree. I’m usually all for Ryden, but that’s a little far-fetched even for me.
Better luck next time, dude. Or maybe you could post this over at [livejournal.com profile] rydenevidence for more squee… (These lyrics are GREAT for fic though! Wow, Brendon! I looooooooooooooooooove you!)

REKINDLING ROMANCE AT THE DISCO?

Singer Brendon Urie and guitarist Ryan Ross of highly popular rock band Panic at the Disco are rumoured to be up to old tricks. Though never officially confirmed, the intra-band romance is wildly known among the fans to have gone on for almost five years, up until Ross’s wedding with modern dancer Keltie Colleen in June of last year. Ross and Urie were spotted alone together several times this week, walking down the beach in Malibou and sipping coffee in intimate cafés, heads held close together. Meanwhile, Mrs Ross was seen with fellow dancer and colleague David Johnson at the opening of Désir volant—guest appearance by French choreographer André Préjocaj—on the Las Vegas dance scene, proudly displaying her growing stomach to the red carpet cameras. “We’re really excited,” Keltie Ross told E! reporter Amanda Carston. “Ryan and I both want a really big family. We’re in a very happy place right now.” Baby-bliss or divorce? Keep checking in and we’ll keep you updated…

yo, second path chosen. I gotta say, equally sad and heartbreaking. But I still loved it especially this coda, with all the fangirls arguing about Ryden theories LOL. Okay on to the next path.

This one is the one that breaks my heart the most, I have to admit. Glad you liked the fangirls. They (we) were fun to write. :-)

So here I am again this time via the burnt letter (because I'm, clearly, a masochist) /0\

This coda is still love btw :D

You picked the burnt letter? \o/
I'm so happy somebody did that.

Also, masochism is a totally valid life-style choice. :-D

so sad!
i guess thats how it would be in real life. cause real life is never nice... well not often at least ;)

and may i just say i absolutely love how you have those absolutely ridicolous crazy rydon comments in here and they are - in this case - actually true lol
imagine something like that would really happen and those crazy bastards were really right! XDDD

Completely heartbreaking to think about, isn't it?
I have a huge-ass kink for irony, have to admit. I love ambiguous endings where things could really go either way. (I mean, what's really going on here? Are they friends again? Something more? Never will be? I just love turning the options around in my head.)

Glad you liked it. :-)

okay...this one is just so heartbreaking :'(

I saved the ryden coda for last though cause I want my happy ending in bolded spliced names. thank you!

It is. In a way, this one's worse than the Wedding Coda, I think. I loved writing Brendon in this, though. Actually, I just love writing Brendon in general. I adore how he just bleeds off the page so easily.
