So, in a potential Spencer-Ryan-OMC-who-might-look-a-bit-like-Brendon threesome of doom, would the use of Colin Morgan (Merlin) be

a) hot
b) creepy
c) a bit of both?

And, part 2 (because yes, there is a part 2 :)), if used, which scenario would be better:

a) sticking with RPF and using Colin Morgan, adorable Irish accent and all?
b) using the character Merlin, thereby doing some kind of magical realism crossover with potential background stories of Merlin being in the US, waiting for Arthur to grow up (Arthur who has been resurrected as Bradley James. idek.)

I'm kind of leaning towards using Colin as Colin (if I do it at all, rather than just bringing in an OC). Because he seems kind of sarcastic and funny and one for blunt truths (from what I've seen, he is written exactly like Merlin is written, which basically makes the RPF section of Merlin fandom identical to Merlin modern day AUs. I love it.)

So, what do you think?

I would say c and a.

C because I keep trying to watch Merlin, and there is something I can't get my head around, mainly merlin himself bless him.

And A because it's CSI-verse and I think bringing in magical realism would diminish it somehow. Plus maybe irish!Colin would be enough to convince Ryan that there is no similarity to Brendon at all whatsoever nu-uh.

LOL, that was kind of what I was thinking. Because OBVIOUSLY having that accent makes them totally different. No similarities at all in the mouth or the colouring or the very long, dark eyelashes, no sirree. :)

He could totally have a cameo, or be mentioned somehow. I dunno in what way. Did they break up? Did he get married? Fly back to England? Colin is rebounding? Ooh so many possibilities

I was thinking they could be on a roadtrip (kind of in a preslashy place) through the US and Bradley's done something to piss Colin off (hooking up with someone in that same bar, maybe?) I don't know, could be a lot of things. Rebound is a nice angle too. :)

But Colin, not Merlin. And Colin isn't quiiiite Merlin, I don't think. Colin, at least from what I've seen, is a lot more brash and has a much darker sense or humor. Have you seen Secrets & Magic and/or Season 1 DVD extras?

Yes, I agree with you. I really like what I've seen of Colin on Secrets & Magic. A lot of people seem to be writing them pretty much exactly the same, though, which makes me a bit scared of taking on the character myself. But, oh well. I'm sure it'll work out. Somehow. And a darker, brasher Colin would definitely work in the setting I'm imagining. :)

Yes! It is interesting that there really isn't much difference fanonically, even though it seems pretty clear to me that they are rather different. I try and not read Colin/Bradley if only because I've never foubd a story that I thought was nearly as well-written as the Merlin fic.
